BSB all set to make waves

PETALING JAYA: The Backstreet Boys’ concert here is only a day away.

Happening tomorrow evening at the Sunway Lagoon Surf Beach, the boys are set to make waves with a smashing comeback concert.
The show here is part of the foursome’s Unbreakable World Tour 2008, which follows the successful release of their sixth album last October.

Artiste World executive director Arianna Teoh said the concert is slated to be one of the best for the group, even without former band mate Kevin Richardson, who left the group two years ago to pursue other interests.

“The show will be a walk down memory lane as well as a ‘live’ insight to what the album (Unbreakable) is all about,” Teoh said.
“There will be perfectly choreographed dance moves and it will definitely be a treat for all the aficionados. To watch these guys perform live will be an opportunity that comes only once in a long while,” she added.

Critics have described the latest album as pure pop pleasure. It is said to include various music styles, combining their earlier mid-90s R&B tunes with newer guitar-driven pop/rock sounds.

The Backstreet Boys, or more popularly known as BSB, will be arriving with a 26-person entourage, which includes a band and dancers.

The group, comprising Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough, A.J McLean and Nick Carter, had earlier said that they were looking forward to meeting their Malaysian fans again. They last performed here at a tsunami charity concert a few years ago. The show starts at 8pm.

For ticketing details call 03-7711-5000 or 03-5639-0000. Tickets are also available at Sunway Lagoon’s Ticketing Counters (Surf Beach and Main Entrance).
The concert is jointly organised by Artiste World and Galaxy Group. Sunway Lagoon Theme Park is the official venue. Other sponsors include Channel [V], Hitz FM and Mix FM. The Star is the official newspaper.
